This VPLP design launched in June 2006 under the name Groupama III, was bought in 2012 by Banque Populaire with a view to competing in the Route du Rhum 2014. She underwent a refit at the Keroman Technologies yard and was relaunched on 15 April 2013 in Lorient with her new livery. Renamed Banque Populaire VII skippered by Armel Le Cléac’h, she racked up a series of records (Trans-Mediterranean, Discovery Route, greatest distance covered in solo format in 24 hours). In 2014 she won the Route du Rhum in the hands of Loick Peyron before being bought by IDEC.
