La Mie Câline

La Mie Câline

The fifth creation by the firm VPLP design - Guillaume Verdier Naval Architecture, built in 2010 for Michel Desjoyeaux for the Barcelona World Race 2011 (dismasting offshore of the Cape of Good Hope). From 2011, the boat garnered numerous podium places in the colours of Banque Populaire VI with Armel Le Cléac'h, including a second place in the Vendée Globe 2012, just behind Macif / François Gabart.
In 2013, Jérémie Beyou / Maître Coq took over the reins and, after a second place in the Route du Rhum 2014, the boat went into refit at CDK Technologies to have foils added and went on to secure third place in the Vendée Globe 2016. In 2017, she was bought by Tanguy De Lamotte, who passed the helm over to Sam Davies for the Vendée Globe 2020. In 2021, she was sold to Arnaud Boissières / La Mie Câline with a view to the Vendée Globe 2024.
